Management Trainee – Business & Leadership

Would you like to learn how a business is run – working closely with senior management?

At Elcor in Sønderborg, we are looking for a Management Trainee who is keen to develop from a young talent graduate into one of the future leaders and key figures within the business.

You’ll work closely with the Business Unit Director and the rest of the management team, gaining first-hand experience of how strategy, finance, sales, operations and organisation all fit together – and
how decisions are turned into action.

The programme is structured around your development: you’ll be assigned a mentor from senior management, given responsibilities that grow in line with your development, and have the opportunity to try your hand
at different areas of the business.

Your main areas of responsibility

You’ll be broadly involved in the business and will be responsible for:

  • Decision-making support: Analyses, presentations and proposals for the
Business Unit Director and the management team – and ensuring that decisions are translated into action.
  • Your own projects: Fixed areas of responsibility and improvement initiatives, which you will drive from concept to result, with data, KPIs and business performance at the heart of the process.
  • Cross-functional initiatives: Driving progress and coordination across functions, giving you insight into customers, people, operations and finance.
  • Digitalisation and AI: Using AI and Microsoft 365 to create simpler and
more efficient workflows within management and the organisation.

As a natural part of the role, you’ll also help to establish structure and follow-up processes for management activities. This is precisely where you’ll learn how a business is run in practice.

A little about you

will thrive in this role if you...

  • have a relevant higher education qualification, for example in business, economics, management, engineering or digitalisation
  • are keen to learn quickly, take responsibility and develop alongside the business
  • Your drive and curiosity carry more weight than your specific educational background
  • are analytical and, at the same time, good at getting things done
  • work in a structured and independent manner and see things through to the end
  • are curious about both people and business and ask the right questions
  • are comfortable with figures, data and presentations
  • communicate effectively in Danish and English, both in writing and verbally
  • you see opportunities in AI and digital tools such as Microsoft 365 and Teams
  • have the confidence to work closely with senior management, and the desire and potential to eventually take on a leadership role

That’s why you should choose Elcor

You’ll experience a learning curve that very few recent graduates get to experience. From day one, you’ll work closely with the Business Unit Director and the management team, see how decisions are made, and become part of the decision-making process yourself.

The Business Unit Director will be your mentor and sparring partner throughout the programme. Together, you’ll set goals for your development and regularly review your progress and what your next step should be.

Your responsibilities will grow as you do. You’ll start with a broad remit and work closely with senior management, then take on responsibility for larger projects, and may be placed in a department or
function for a period where you’ll try your hand at management and take on your
own business responsibilities.

In 2–3 years’ time, the programme could lead you on to, for example, project management, business development, commercial responsibility, a specialist or lead role, or actual people management –
depending on your strengths and the direction in which you develop.

In short

We are not looking for a fully-fledged manager. We’re looking for a talented individual who has the potential and the drive to become one.

The role is designed as a development programme and a springboard for your career, where you’ll get to know the business from the inside and help to develop it.
